At Caboodle we have many years’ experience in helping people in the yachting industry obtain a mortgage, so I am sure we will be able to help you too. It can be challenging getting a mortgage when you work outside the UK and are paid in a ‘foreign currency’ (euros or dollars), but with our industry knowledge we know which lenders will consider helping seafarers and yacht crew with their mortgage requirements.

We appreciate that when working on a yacht, and being in a different country or out at sea, it is not always easy to chat on the phone. However, we are happy to arrange calls via WhatsApp irrespective of your location and time-zone around the world, so that we can discuss your plans and requirements in more detail. We can also use the opportunity to answer any questions you may have.

Seafarer Mortgage Considerations

One of the key considerations a mortgage lender will be interested in when you buy a property and apply for a seafarer mortgage is whether the mortgage you require is for a property that you will live in when you are back in the UK or if you will rent it out to other people. We can discuss the differences with you when we speak.
